In the Digital PET Imaging Lab of WNLO, Prof.Valery V Tuchin from Russia was testing the reliability of a new chip with his team. His chip technology has broken the best international clinical record of digital PET’s accuracy of testing cancer cells and improved it from 4.5mm to 2.2mm.
The products of digital PET technology had been put into clinical application, which has broken the monopoly of enterprises in the USA, Germany and Netherlands. It is the second Chinese New Year that Professor Valery spent in Hubei province. Moteng Tagne Patrickm, an international student majoring in optical communication, was also very busy with research and development in Spring Festival. He enjoyed the atmosphere in Optical Valley and believed that he would succeed in his career there.
On February 6th, Hubei News reported the story of Huagong Genuine Optics Co.,Ltd in a sub column named “Deepening Supply-side Structural Reform, Focusing on Developing Projects and Endeavoring to be a New Growth Pole”. All the production lines were running at full capacity to produce fiber optic modem when Spring Festival still hasn’t come to an end.Tian Wen, the automation engineer said they were developing an intelligent fusion gateway and the box in charge of the internet, fiber optic and television would be designed altogether. According to their estimation, it can realize volume production in 2018.

Ultraviolet LED can make ultraviolet light which imitates sunshine, and the technology was monopolized by foreign countries for a long time. It is Professor Chen Changqing who makes Hubei Province take the lead internationally in that area from the scratch. In 2012, he made his own team with the help of 3551 Optics Valley Talent Program. After improving American technology, he developed the basic materials of Ultraviolet LED with proprietary intellectual property rights.
Professor Chen’s team had developed almost 20 patents in seven years, and improve the power of the products to 20 W/c㎡. Now, they had built cooperation with many enterprises, such as Sichuan Changhong Electric Co.,Ltd., YOFC Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable Joint Stock Limited Company, PSA Peugeot Citroen Group and so on.
In December, 2016, Professor Chen Changqing was listed in the second batch of Wuhan’s City Partners, which means the green card of his career.
